%X <p>Due&nbsp;to&nbsp;constantly&nbsp;changing&nbsp;working&nbsp;sites&nbsp;often&nbsp;in&nbsp;remote&nbsp;places&nbsp;the&nbsp;working&nbsp;conditions&nbsp;of&nbsp;forest&nbsp;workers&nbsp;and&nbsp;log&nbsp;floaters&nbsp;have&nbsp;been&nbsp;inadequate.&nbsp;The&nbsp;article&nbsp;discusses&nbsp;the&nbsp;requirements&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;act on&nbsp;the&nbsp;housing&nbsp;of&nbsp;forest&nbsp;workers&nbsp;and&nbsp;log&nbsp;floaters&nbsp;that&nbsp;came&nbsp;into&nbsp;force&nbsp;in 1928, and&nbsp;assesses&nbsp;how&nbsp;it&nbsp;affected&nbsp;the&nbsp;working&nbsp;conditions&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;laborers.<span data-ccp-props="{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}">&nbsp;</span></p>
<p>The employers had positive attitude towards the new legislation and they had improved the housing conditions to match the requirements. Most complaints in the inspections of the working conditions were found in Eastern Finland. The shortages were considered to be mostly minor ones. Even if the act concerned only housing, it improved indirectly also&nbsp;nourishment&nbsp;in&nbsp;the working sites.
